The Role

We are seeking a Process Scientist / Engineer to join our team and support validated production lines involving chemical synthesis. This role is critical in ensuring high operational efficiency and the successful execution of production plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and support validated production lines to maintain operational excellence.
• Lead technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Develop, propose, and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance process efficiency.
• Participate in technology transfers, process validations, and scale-up activities.
• Define equipment and resource needs, ensuring proper lifecycle management and reliability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate test results and support process development.
• Prepare and review process documentation, protocols, reports, and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP and HSE policies.
• Support audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
• Identify opportunities for patents and scientific publications.
• Represent Hovione in client interactions and technical presentations.
• Provide training and mentorship to colleagues and new team members.

• Qualifications

  • University degree (mandatory) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biological Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A PhD is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in R&D or Operations within the pharmaceutical industry, or a PhD with relevant focus.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more of the following:
  • Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Unit Operations
  • Reaction Engineering, Heat Transfer, Process Safety
  • Drug Product Formulation, Drug Delivery, Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in data management, statistics, and first-principles modeling is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
