The Global Program Director is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of high-value, complex projects across the organization. This role oversees multidisciplinary project teams, manages budgets and timelines, ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, and drives project outcomes that align with corporate goals. The Director acts as the primary executive stakeholder interface, ensuring effective communication, risk management, and successful project execution from initiation through completion.
Lead the development of long-term project strategies, roadmaps, and execution plans.
Ensure projects align with organizational objectives, growth initiatives, and stakeholder expectations.
Establish governance structures, project frameworks, and best practices to standardize delivery.
Serve as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, including the Hovione Senior Leadership Team (SLT), ensuring clear communication, alignment, and timely decision-making.
Act as the primary point of escalation for contractors, suppliers, and external partners, resolving high-level issues and ensuring contractual and performance obligations are met.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, regulatory authorities, clients, and other key stakeholders to ensure project transparency and success.
Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations to senior executives and governance committees, outlining progress, risks, and strategic recommendations.
Oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation across large or multi-phase projects.
Direct cross-functional project teams, including engineering, design, operations, finance, and external partners.
Monitor progress, performance, and quality to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
Resolve critical issues, remove roadblocks, and provide high-level decision-making support.
Develop and manage large-scale project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.
Oversee contract negotiations, vendor management, and procurement processes.
Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies, and regulatory standards.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to scope, cost, schedule, safety, and quality.
Implement robust safety, regulatory, and quality management processes.
Mentor and develop project managers and team leads.
Promote a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and continuous improvement.
Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and capability development to support major project delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10–15+ years of experience managing large-scale, high-complexity projects (capital projects, infrastructure, technology, energy, government, etc.).
Proven experience in executive-level communication and cross-functional leadership.
Expert-level project management and organizational skills.
Strong financial acumen, with ability to manage multi-million or billion-dollar budgets.
Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Familiarity with project management software and enterprise reporting tools.
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certifications.
Professional engineering license or industry-specific credentials depending on field.
