You will be responsible to:

Technical & Operational Leadership

  • Lead the Precision Equipment Maintenance team, ensuring GMP‑compliant maintenance of laboratory and B22 drug‑product equipment.
  • Apply strong technical expertise in preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure high reliability and optimal performance of critical systems.
  • Support Quality Control and Manufacturing operations by minimizing downtime and improving equipment availability throughout the facility.
  • Provide technical solutions for unexpected events throughout equipment and installation life cycles, ensuring lessons learned are captured and fed back into engineering standards.

People Management

  • Manage and support the team members assigned to your area, including recruitment, onboarding, training needs identification and performance management, in alignment with company HR policies.
  • Set annual objectives for all direct reports and ensure continuous follow‑up and alignment.
  • Promote engagement and alignment with Hovione’s values, culture and strategic goals, while fostering professional and personal development.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, offer coaching and development plans, and address performance gaps in partnership with HR.
  • Identify and support high performers for career advancement, in accordance with organizational needs.

Competency & Capability Development

  • Define and maintain the list of technical competencies required in the area.
  • Develop and implement training plans to enhance team technical capability.

Facilities & Equipment Strategy

  • Contribute to strategies for the design, acquisition and maintenance of facilities and equipment to ensure maximum asset reliability.
  • Advise on the selection and management of outsourced engineering, facility, or maintenance contracts and resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement and the use of lean principles across all departmental activities.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all facilities operate in compliance with regulatory requirements, national laws and health authority expectations.
  • Perform all assigned duties safely and in accordance with environmental, health and safety rules, procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
  • Ensure full compliance with GMP requirements and promote adherence to Hovione’s internal systems, policies and procedures (COPs, HBR, SOPs, etc.) across the team.

We are looking to recruit a Candidate:

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic or Instrumentation, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in maintenance context of Pharmaceutical industrial areas 
  • Proven experience in leading others in project context
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Track record of overachieving targets  Possess extensive knowledge of industrial / lab safety and environment and of budget control principles and practices and is able to effectively share them with others
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Skilled at managing complex processes and tools
  • Fluency in English is a requirement
  • Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.
