Are you ready to make a real impact in a global pharmaceutical company committed to innovation and sustainability? At Hovione, we are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable HSES Specialist to join our team in Portugal. In this role, you will help shape and implement our Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability programs, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace for our employees and surrounding communities.

 

Your Role

As an HSES Specialist, you will:

  • Implement HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines across your areas of expertise.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Hovione’s HSE and Sustainability standards, including major accident hazard prevention.
  • Conduct and support incident investigations, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.
  • Perform regular site inspections and internal audits to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support external audits and regulatory inspections, including communication with vendors and authorities.
  • Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to internal teams.
  • Monitor and report HSE performance indicators, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support sustainability goals and projects.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in alignment with GMP, HSE, and company policies.

We are looking to recruit a Candidate:

What You Bring:

 

  • University degree in HSE, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety, or a related scientific field (mandatory).
  • Professional Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety at Work (desired).
  • Professional Certificate in Environmental Legislation (desired).
  • 3–5 years of experience in HSE roles, ideally within industrial or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Solid understanding of HSE principles, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
  • Experience in audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage vendors, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant digital tools.
