Are you driven by purpose and passionate about building a more sustainable future? At Hovione, we are seeking a proactive and collaborative Associate OT & Data Engineer to join our team in Portugal. This role is ideal for someone with a background in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry who thrives on connecting departments, driving sustainability initiatives, and embedding environmental responsibility into everyday operations.

 Your Role

As a Sustainability Specialist, you will:

• Support the implementation of new or changed installations and equipment.
• Maintain standards
• Incorporate new solutions for digital innovation
• Introduce or propose new objectives to have a continuous improvement
• Collaborate and support sites automation
• Maintain and develop standards, procedures and specifications for continuous and discrete control, alarms, interlocks, and human machine interfaces in compliance with internal and external guidelines

We are looking to recruit a Candidate:

• Engineering Degree (preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering with chemical manufacturing automation experience)
• Minimum experience of 3 years in a role related to automation projects in industrial operations
• Equipment automation design, commissioning, and qualification
• Good computer skills (office software tools, preferably with computer programming knowledge: Sequential Flow Charts and Function Block diagrams, Visual Basic, Mathematical software packages)
• Fluent in English written and spoken
• Team spirit, initiative, dynamism, and creativity
• Root cause analysis / problem-solving skills
