Are you driven by purpose and passionate about building a more sustainable future? At Hovione, we are seeking a proactive and collaborative Associate OT & Data Engineer to join our team in Portugal. This role is ideal for someone with a background in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry who thrives on connecting departments, driving sustainability initiatives, and embedding environmental responsibility into everyday operations.

 Your Role

As a OT & Data Engineer , you will:

• Develop automation systems to control industrial processes 

• Define requirements, plan, and manage new Global Automation equipment projects or changes to the existing ones 

• Develop and review / approve specification, testing document templates, as well as internal and standard operating procedures (IOP, SOP) 

• Collaborate with Automation sites to support exchange proven practices and standards 

• Collaborate in internal / external audits and inspections 

• Follow HSE program, participate in PHA, FMEA and HAZOP 

We are looking to recruit a Candidate:

• Engineering Degree (preferably Mechanical or Automation Engineering with chemical manufacturing automation experience) 

• Equipment automation design, commissioning, and qualification 

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in automated control systems, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector 

• Good understanding and knowledge of control systems (DCS, SCADA and PLC) 

• Good computer skills (office software tools, preferably with computer programming knowledge: Sequential Flow Charts and Function Block diagrams, Mathematical software packages) 

• Fluent in English written and spoken 

• Project management, coordination, communication, and leadership skills 

• Team spirit, initiative, dynamism, and creativity 

• Root cause analysis / problem-solving skills
