You will be responsible to:

  • Provide scientific leadership and act as a subject matter expert in analytical development to support R&D process development and other relevant areas.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to optimize experimental design, troubleshoot technical challenges, perform sample analysis, interpret data, generate reports, and communicate results promptly to key project stakeholders.
  • Recommend and oversee the analytical characterization package (chemical, physical, performance) while ensuring the quality and accuracy of data in compliance with legislation, regulatory standards, and Quality, HSE, and cGMP policies.
  • Leverage your expertise to address and resolve complex analytical challenges in projects.
  • Promote the scientific excellence and innovation in the Analytical area and contributes with technical expertise to expand the Intellectual Property, product and technology portfolios.
  • Stay informed about new and emerging techniques and tools relevant to the field, ensuring the group remains at the forefront of analytical science.
  • Maintain open cross-functional communication channels to support the implementation of analytical strategies.
  • Engage actively with clients to address technical and scientific issues, providing clear and effective solutions.
  • Lead and supervise analytical investigations, defining and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Master Analytical Chemistry processes and tools
  • Manage complex projects and analyses with significant business impact, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Make timely and informed decisions based on multiple data sources.
  • Proactively manage risks and uncertainties, anticipating and escalating potential roadblocks to achieve project goals.
  • Execute professional activities in compliance with GMP and HSE guidelines, internal and external requirements as well as promote the implementation and maintenance of Hovione´s policies, systems and procedures (COPs, HBR, SOPs and others)
  • Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and to comply with environmental, health & safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.

 

We are looking to recruit a Candidate:

  • University degree, or equivalent, in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or in similar Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Health Sciences fields. A PhD is highly desirable  
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (preferably 5+ years) in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on oral drug development. Proven expertise in drug product characterization, analytical method development, and data analysis is required.
  • Excellent understanding of scientific principles and processes relevant to the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in drug product development (e.g., spray drying, continuous tableting).
  • Demonstrated expertise in analytical method development for oral drug products using QbD approaches, including gap and risk assessments, DOE, and statistical analysis (e.g., dissolution testing, thermal analysis, solid-state characterization, rheology, and powder flow properties).
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements for drug products.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Established scientific network within the industry and academia, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a matrix team environment.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, matrix environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results within project timelines.
